Herpes all over the body

I am a 24 year old female. Last year I was horrified to discover I had contracted genital herpes from a long time partner. Not only that, but recently (by culture) I was found to have somehow spread the herpes to my armpits, breasts, wrist, and foot. I had been taking EVERY precaution to prevent this. Yesterday I got confirmation that I have ocular herpes(corneal). I don't understand how this could happen. I was always told by doctors and forums that auto inoculation is rare. I don't understand! Help! I am terrified of unknowingly spreading this to my child!

Unfortunately, it has been cultured as HSV2. I am still having a hard time coming to terms with this. I have been with the same person for 9 years, and this happened to me. It can happen to anyone.

From my limited knowledge but very aggressive reading about hsv1 and 2 ... Is that most of the time if herpes spreads to other areas iof body is most likely hvs1.  When you were diagnosed .. Did the doctor tell u if it's hsv1 or 2?

I am sincerely sorry you are going thru all these difficulties with herpes at such a young age.  Please be strong and whatever comes to, work with your doctor or talk to the more knowledgable good people on this forum.

I will pray for you ... God bless
