Continuous Outbreaks

I was diagnosed about three weeks ago with oral herpes. Initially I was perscribed nothing as they didn't think it was a bad case. Then, after suffering a severe outbreak my doctor perscribed me acyclovir, twice a day. Two weeks in to the acyclovir, I am still having an outbreak a week on average, with the sores almost just healing before new ones will flare up, almost always on the dot of Wednesday. (I've never liked that day..) I am taking a multivitamin daily, my acyclovir, L-Lysine (1000mg daily), and 2000mg of Vitamin C daily. When will this stop? Is it possible I will always have sores like this? Is there anything else I can do?

It's too late for a leision culture but go back because it should've cleared up by now, not continue to keep having recurrences like this back to back even while on acyclovir.  Odds are that it's not oral herpes going on after all.

They said with such a textbook case they didn't feel a need to do a bloodtest. So.. they diagnosed me based on symptoms. I think it's just that the acyclovir isn't doing anything for me at all.

You need to go back and be seen again.

How did they diagnose you as having oral herpes?
