Hi Gerbera,
I was in a 5 year relationship and found out my partner gave this to me. I was getting tested yearly as a precaution but did not expect this because I assumed my partner was being faithful. I was devastated to say the least. Take it day by day and try not to let it define you. The good news is that it won't kill you, just causes some irritation now and then-think of it as chickenpox. Because it is a virus it will remain in your body always. The antibiotics may help suppress symptoms. The CDC's website has trustworthy facts about HSV. Remember to disclose your status to your partners, but do not feel pressure to share your status if you do not intend on being sexually involved with that person.
I hope this helps, your not disgusting, 1/4 people have it, keep smiling!
I think the facts are important. Antibiotics does not treat a herpes outbreak. How were you diagnosed with herpes and what sexual activity did you have in the week before symptoms appeared? What were the symptoms?
