Could this be herpes?

I'm a 19 year old male, who revcieved Oral from a female who may have had herpes. I recently, a week after, have developed of couple of canker sores,  or possibly cold sores in my mouth, and on my inner lip. I only kissed the girl once. is it possible to get oral herpes from recieving a "********" or "head" Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, thanks for all the help and insightful posts, I really do appreciate it. I posted the same question on the "expert forum" for std's and Dr. Hook, recommended that I need not worry about any of this. And that it really is unlikely that I would develop oral herpes, from one kiss. He also stated that he would not expect me to have oral herpes from receiving "oral" from a female; he would expect genital herpes, or break outs around that area in this case. Which was what my initial question was...I was a little unsure to whether that was possible or not...Regardless, I offered your opinions to Dr. Hook in a second message, and will keep all of you posted. I'm most likely going to get tested, just for reassurance.  Here's the link for the "Expert forum" topic:

Just one thing - HSV-1 causes cold sores, which are on the inner and out lips and outside of the mouth, but does NOT cause canker sores which, are a different thing and inside of the mouth.

I hope you do get tested soon - if it's within 48 hours of the sores appearing, get a swab of them done. Same if any sores appear on your genitals or anus.

Please let us know the outcome.

Good luck.

Yes it is possible. You want to get checked out as soon as possible.

HSV-1 causes canker sores and can be spread genitally or orally. Good luck!
