Confused about results

Hello.

Just as a part of taking care of my health,  and continuing my sexual life, I went to a reputable lab (not in the US) and requested a IGG Herpes 2 test.

What I got wasn't what I expected...

Herpes 2 IGG -> 0.0
Reference range 0.0-5.0

I wanted to make sure... They messed it up right?

I have had others before and I never got a 0.0.

Also...hoe do you deal with anxiety over this and at the same time being a sexuales active adult?

Thank you,  I think that's rather reasonable.

Without symptoms that you have a small realistic suspicion could be herpes, then testing is not recommended.
We do not know if the test failed. 0.0 could be roudned from 0.04 for example which we see from time to time. If the test failed they do often indicate that and invite a retest. Best to call the lab and question.

You have answer more than I could have asked for... But I'm still rather confused:

If most people are mostly asymptomatic or have very mild ones (which I could be? Who knows), shouldn't I be sure rather than with this failed test?

Disgraceful that the test failed...

It certainly doesn't infer positive is more correct to say. Without symptoms there is no need to suspect you have been infected in any event.

Thank you Life.

Didn't quite get what you said Fleetwood. It seems it failed but is negative anyway?

It doesn't seem quite right, as though the test failed mechanically. Clearly no concerns over being positive.
Anxiety is each of our own issues. Anxiety often manifests itself due to lack of knowledge and control. You can only do one of two things: accept it or control it.
To control it, you do not have sex with anyone until you have tested observing window periods.
To accept this, you appreciate the virus for what it is. One of a hundred common viruses that inhabit the human body that may give you cold sores now and again.
