Do I ha e herpes?

On August 14 at 1 am I received a blow job from a prostitute with seran wrap. Once the seran wrap broke she went down two more times and I told her to stop. The whole ordeal was no longer then 1 minute. On Wednesday August 21 I see on my penis shaft on the foreskin area(circumsized)what looks like a small yellow spot. I started to freak out and squeeze it and mess with it. It seemed to get bigger as I messed with it. The bump also got bigger as I attempted to get an erection. on Saturday I went to the doctors and got the area swabbed. The doctor did not seem like he knew what herpes was and just swabbed the area even though it was not wet. I went home and attempted to squeeze the crap out of it intil it finally broke or popped. It left a little red mark almost like a pimple would. It has since replaced the area with a little more yellow like it was before but not as big. This area did not hurt, sting, itch, absolutely nothing. The only reason I noticed was because I saw a little redness when I went pee. So does this sound like herpes? I have the feeling I got this now and I am completely screwed. Unless of course this is some sort of extreme coincidence.

It's really hard to say since you have been squeezing and messing with it, and we don't know how it would look naturally. Things like this normally get bigger the more you mess with it - ever popped a pimple? It looks a lot angrier after you pop it, what with the scab and all.

If the doctor did a PCR swab on it, it wouldn't matter if it was dry. If it's not herpes, and something like a fungal infection or some sort of bacteria, the swab make pick up on it.

The chances of getting herpes from a one-minute oral encounter are slim, even if you hadn't used any kind of protection. If you were to get herpes from oral sex, it would be genital herpes type 1, not type 2, as the number indicates the strain of the virus, not the location.

Have you ever had a cold sore? If you already have oral hsv1, you can't get hsv1 again in a different location. You can have hsv1 already and not know it, since 90% of those with hsv1 will never get any symptoms, and about half the adult population already has it.

The only thing you can do now is wait, and stop messing with it. Let it heal. Listen, your penis is your friend. Treat it kindly. Well, really, your skin is your friend. Don't squeeze and pop and mess with things on it. That's a great way to get bacteria into sores, and to create scarring.

When do your results come back? If you get another sore, don't touch it, and let a doctor see it, preferably one who knows what herpes is.

Don't panic - this could be really anything.

I am trying to come to the realization that I may have this crap now. It's just way too much of a coincidence. And I can't believe that like 5 seconds would give some crap like this. I am just stunned that it did not hurt at all and just showed up out of nowhere with no symptoms. Every doctor I have talked to seems incompetent in there knowledge of what it is. They have been swabbing it, but do not tell me what test they are going for. I can not deal with anymore bad news this year. I seriously can not. This would be my 4th disease within the last 8 months. What have I done to deserve all of this!
I know they say herpes can look like pimples, but does that mean they act like it to? And how normal is it to show up as one pimple?
What are your other diseases? Any chance any of them can cause skin irritations?

When you get tested for anything, you are allowed - actually entitled - to ask what they are testing you for. You can also call the office and ask. They are required to tell you.

It may be a herpes test, it may be a wound culture - you need to find out.

That said, how many times have you had it swabbed?

There is quite a bit of difference between a pimple and herpes. Pimples, even in the genital area, are usually firm to the touch. Herpes sores aren't. Pimples form under the skin, and form an actual bump or lump. Herpes is ON the skin - it is not under it, so there is no hard lump or bump around it. It may be red around it, but it won't be raised.

I understand that you've had a rough year, but I'm not sure why, against all odds and scientific knowledge, you are resigning yourself to having herpes. If this is herpes, it's not at all likely to be from this encounter.

When was your most recent encounter prior to this one?

Try to hang in there.
In a 7month time frame I was told I had major depression-ocd, Very loud tinnunitis, and also Melanoma. Hopefully it stays at these 3 and I don't want to add this as a fourth. My last sexual encounter was 7 years ago with another women that wasn't my wife. In those days I wore condoms all the time as well.

I understand the odds I just believe I have the worst luck in the world and I would be the unlucky person to get it. I also find this to be an EXTREME coincidence if it wasn't something worrisome.  I am also starting to not believe in my own thoughts like " what if it wasn't hard in the beginning and I just thought it was". But I will take your advice and try to find solace in it. I appreciate you taking your time in helping an idiot like me on this forum.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of that. I hope you are receiving treatment. A good friend has tinnitus, and she says it's terrible, and has affected her life in ways she would have never expected.

Of course your thoughts are going a little haywire. Even those of us without OCD can fall into the "what if" trap. Remember that your thoughts are lying to you, and that's part of OCD/anxiety/depression.

It is extremely coincidental, and the timing would lend itself to being herpes and my advice would be a lot different if there was no form of protection used and the oral sex lasted longer than it did, or if she had sores on her mouth.

You aren't an idiot. You had a pretty typical reaction, actually.

The good news is that on the really, really, really unlikely chance that this is herpes, it would be hsv1 genitally, as the number indicates the strain of the virus, not the location. (And again, I really don't think it is herpes.) Genital hsv1 doesn't recur nearly as often as genital hsv2, it doesn't shed nearly as often, which results in almost no chance that you'd ever transmit it to anyone, so long as you avoid sex during outbreaks. Many people with ghsv1 only get the initial outbreak.

Again - I don't think this is herpes. I just wanted to give you that info so that you'd have it for when your thoughts run away with worst-case scenarios.

Hang in there.
