.97 means they couldn't tell either way, but it doesn't have anything to do with what you ate. Just get another test done and put your mind at ease. Chances are good it will be negative, but at least find out.
What you ate for breakfast or any meds you are on (minus antivirals) or if you have a cold or not WOULD NOT impact testing. That’s ridiculous. You are in the equivocal range and more than likely a false positive if you hadn’t had Alex at least 12 weeks before the tear. A confirmation test would be the next step. The best you can get is the Western Blot from the University of Washington but you should get another IgG first and see what it says. If below 3.5, get a confirmation test.
