Reference range: Negative; Out of range: Positive. What does this mean?

I recently had blood drawn as part of a STD test. My question relates to my HSV1 results.  The results are separated in to columns.  Under the Reference Range column my results read negative.  However, under the Out of Range column my results read positive.  Can anyone provide insight as to what this means?  I suspect it means that I tested positive for HSV1.  However, why would it not also show positive under the reference range column?
