Genital + oral herpes?

2 months ago I received oral sex from a girl I met at a bar.
4 weeks after that I got flu symptoms including severe joint paint, stiff neck and fever.
After a month I got an ulcer in my penis something I never had before so I went to the doctor.
She took a swab sample and sent it to the lab
3 days later she called me to let me know the results were positive.
She prescribed acyclovir and the ulcer went away after 7 days (week 6)
However 8 weeks after the event and 2 weeks after what I know now it is called the first outbreak I still have mild joint paint. Sometimes headache and I noticed that my body gets warmer than usual
Is this normal?
Now my concern is that I got an ulcer or sore under my tongue, it has been there for 3 days, went to the doctor again and she told me it is unrelated
But I have never has something like this in my life.

Is this oral herpes and I am having my first oral outbreak? Is it possible to get genital herpes and oral herpes outbreak one after another?

I am really scared, I tested negative for HIV and syphilis after 8 weeks, she says the results won't be conclusive until week 12.

I am not sure If I am allowed to post pictures but here is a link of the sore I have under the tongue.

Thanks a lot for your help

First, it's important to clarify that the virus doesn't "cross the equator." If you got the virus genitally, it would not cause an oral outbreak later. However, you could have contracted the virus in both places (above and below the waist) during the same sexual event.

I would not think your tongue ulcer could have been contracted from a kiss, however. That first presentation would have been external - on your mouth, not under your tongue. It's possible you contracted it from oral sex, I suppose, if that happened during the sexual event. However, it's perfectly possible the tongue ulcer is just a canker sore - quite common and unrelated to herpes.

Did you also get a blood test? I recommend you get one now - ask for a reliable type-specific blood test, something other than the HerpeSelect ELISA, which has been found recently to have problems - to establish a baseline. Then 16 weeks past exposure, test again.

The very next time a genital ulcer presents, you could also have it swabbed again, and this time insist on having it typed.

Yes, I'm afraid nerve pain can accompany the virus' activity at any time. Rash can also present but - to be honest - hands, legs and stomach rashes could be due to a number of other conditions, such as allergies or stress.

Good luck to you.

Thanks a lot for your quick answer!
I have a follow up appointment with my doctor this Wednesday I will definitely seek a swab of the mouth ulcer.
I tested negative for HIV and syphilis at 7 weeks, doctor told me that it is a good indictator.
So apparently the only thing I got from that experience was the genital herpes.
So based on your answer it is possible to get sympthoms in the 2 first months...
My last question is ... Besides joint pain and the ulcers is rash also part of the HSV sympthoms, I have been getting rash through the day, very itchy and it goes away after a minute or so, on very random places like hands legs stomach.
Please advise.

Thanks

Everything you describe can be associated with an initial HSV infection. The joint pain can be a number of things, including an immune reaction. It could readily be an unrelated issue too. A recurrence in the first couple of months of infection occurs in a large number of cases.

I'd seek a swab of the mouth ulcer. Sores inside the mouth are terribly difficult to diagnose and are only common during primary infection which is of course a possibility here.

I'd seek a blood test in another few weeks to see how your antibodies are going.

Is this normal for a first outbreak?

Please help me with my questions
Joint pain and ulcer under my tongue still present.

1) is it normal to feel joint pain after 2 months of exposure?
2) can I get genital and then oral herpes outbreaks one after another? After the ulcers in my penis went away this ulcer under my tongue appeared, it has been there for 5 days and I have the same sympthoms pain, stiff neck,  flu etc.

Thanks for your reply, sorry My info was confusing I know.
Yes kissed the girl too.
The ulcer was not a single ulcer ...my penis had multiple ulcers like never before
It looked a lot like this picture I found in google

https://www.condom.co.nz/sti32/

I tested positive for HSV not sure what type doctor didn't tell me

I guess my questions are:
1) is it normal to feel joint pain after 2 months of exposure?
2) can I get genital and then oral? Can you please please take a look at the picture that shows my sore, it is in the first post.
3) can I get oral herpes under my tongue? As shown in the pic?

Thanks a lot for your help

I would explore this further.

What exactly did you test positive for? Was the swab found and typed properly for HSV1 or HSV2?

It you had a single ulcer type sore that was when 4 weeks, 8 weeks or 12 weeks after possible exposure? Either way this is technically not a primary outbreak but a recurrence. This thus means the episode in question may not be the source. If you have HSV2 highly unlikely oral sex was the source.

Did you kiss this girl? If not then You cannot be infected orally from this episode. There is also a possibility you have had oral HSV1 for some time and just have a sore now. Many sores inside the mouth are not herpes.
