Itching Only

I had unprotected sex with a girl two weekends in a row about 3 weeks ago, after breaking up with my girlfriend of over a year.  Now I have noticed an itching/burning sensation which started on my thighs one morning, and is now mostly in my pubic hair region.  Its been about a week now, and I see no signs of anything else. Could this be the initial stage of herpes?   I was thinking maybe jock itch but there's no redness or bumps of any kind.  The girl is in watersports so she is in the water a lot in a wetsuit most of the day, thought that might be a clue to a yeast infection like jock itch of some kind?  Any ideas what I should do?

I am in a similar situation than this guy.  New girl friend since two months (always sex with condom). We do go swimming as well but not so often and I had the same (sometimes very annoying) tingling on my tights and pubic area (not on penis or scrotum) without any other visible things like bumps or rashes. it went away after about 4-5 days, but I am a bit worried. I was googling and ended up in this herpes forum. Another reason which seems to me less likely (because the tingling was near my genitals and not the whole body) is that it started 1.5 days after(!) I finished a short course of antibiotics. I have never reacted allergic to antibiotics in my life.
Sadly the owner of this thread did not say what his solution/reason was.
It has now one year passed since grace answered. Are there maybe other news/hints what this might have caused?
(my girlfriend and me never showed signs of herpes)

since you had unprotected sex, you can follow up with proper testing at the proper times. you can test for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

your current symptoms don't sound at all like hepes. if symptoms continue be seen for a proper exam to find out what is going on.
