HSV result question

Hello, i've got a very confusing situation that's starting to become very mentally draining. I've been with my fiance now for almost 5 years. about two years ago she had her routine pap smear and was told that she was diagnosed with hpv. a shock but nothing alarming as we were told that the body's own immune system should take care of it eventually. however about 6 months ago she had another pap smear and this one came back positive for hsv 2 @ 2.69 and negative for hsv1 @  0.15, so i immediately went to my primary care physician and had him run the full gambit on me, i came back negative for both hsv 1 and 2. two weeks later my fiance got tested by our PCP as opposed to her GYNO and came back negative for both hsv 1 and 2.  Now in all this time, neither one of us had a breakout of any sort, no bumps no lesions, no itching,...nothing, until this summer while on vacation in June we had quite a bit of sex as we were alone for the first time we had the opportunity without our child. the head of my penis became extremely bruised and had a bunch of little red dots on the head, then after about a day or two it was as if my penis was shedding kind of like a snake does is the best way to describe it. but it only lasted for about 5-7 days. the next month we went on vacation again, very same place, very same activities and vigorous rounds of sex. sure enough this happens to me again. my penis does not hurt, and itches slightly ever so often and from what i've seen on the internet looks like a male yeast infection (candida) I believe it's called. it also went away in about a week. This time however my fiance experienced some kind of a painful rash and went to her GYNO, who told her it was most probably a yeast infection. Now I am so confused as to what we may or may not have, please help.

as for yourself, you need to be seen and follow up on your own symptoms.  could be many things going on.

A pap test doesn't come back with numeric results for herpes.  that would've been a blood test she had done that returned with those results.    Can your gf find out exactly what testing she had both times better?
