Contracting hsv-1 through oral sex?

My girlfriend recently had her first cold sore appear on her lip on a Monday. It started to swell up and that day her friend gave her some sort of blue pill to treat it and she began to use ointment. Since she caught it at the very beginning the sore never opened up or scabbed over. The swelling went completely down by Friday and she just had small discoloration on her top lip. On Saturday she performed oral on me. I was under the impression if it wasn't an open sore then it wasn't contagious but after reading, I'm worried I might have contracted it genitally.

If it was hsv (which i'm not sure it is) it would be contagious at that time. What you describe doesn't sound like a cold sore.

Well assuming it was an hsv-1 cold sore that she had, after exposure how long before I would show symptoms?

-since she treated it and brought the swelling down before it could rupture and become a full blown sore does that bring down the chances of her passing it to me?

-we also kissed the day before, so I'm curious if I'm more likely to receive hsv-1 orally as opposed to genitally. Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just really worried
Usually 3-10 days for symptoms to show. It could, in rare cases take up to 20 days.
If it lessens the odds it not by much.
Honestly the risk was probably about tbe same. Most exposures won't lead to transmision. Time will tell.

Also to add to my question!
- if I have contracted it how long after exposure will I show symptoms?
- what are the statistics on contracting hsv-1 genitally, from a male receiving oral from a female.
-should I get tested to be sure or would it be inconclusive?
