Ten weeks is plenty accurate well over 90%. No need to test at twelve weeks. Congrats on the negative test results
A primary outbreak can. Recurring outbreaks that would be rare.
The odds from a little genital rubbing are very long indeed. Put it this way. If it were me I wouldn't be worried at all.
I really don't think it's hsv related. Especially from the oral exposure your worried about. I would see your Dr or dermatologist and have the bumps swabbed or even biopsies if they think it's hsv.
Not common at all. Primary outbreaks almost always have lesions. When I say thathat, i don't believe what your experiencing is hsv related at all.
At four weeks around 50% or less would test positive by then. 8 weeks is a much better indicator as over 80% would test positive by then.
Your welcome. Good luck with your twelve week test. You don't need luck though. It will be negative. I bet the farm on it!!!
Outbreaks not school. I hate this new phone!!! Lol
Question 1. You can get it that way. Hsv does not enter the urethra to infect. It can but it enters the skin of the penis or vagina. Being massaged in the thin skin of these areas is the way it's transmitted most often. This is why most every primary outbreak happens at spots of most friction. Like the penis shat or vagina opening.
2. You are missing the point about what I wrote for the igm. The test is simply useless. No expert in the field recommends the test. They are even pushing for it to be taken of the menu. There are many reasons why this test falsely goes positive. The point I'm making is simply disregard the test completely. I know that's difficult but that's the honest truth. Like I said, your physician is clueless about herpes and I suggest you find an std clinic or other dr that specializes in the field.
To add up all the evidence and I don't see this being a primary outbreak of hsv. Your symptoms at two weeks isn't impossible but most primary school are within a week from exposure. The area is more than suspect as well. The groin area is not going to be infected by oral sex and most all primary school happen at the point of infection. Add this to a Dr who clearly isn't up to date on testing. Means you have suffered a great deal of stress and most probably have no hsv infection!!
Also why else would igm be present if not for herpes, it may be also important to note that when I got my first blood test I was coming off a chest infection would this cause igm or Is igms only present with hsv
I just have one more question is it rare to contract hsv just by rubbing genitals against a female who has it hsv but never no contact with my urthea and if so would it also show on the penis
First off, I would find a new Dr. If you decide to pursue this actually being hsv. Which it isn't. The odds you contracted hsv2 from oral sex is like winning the power ball in the lottery. Your not that lucky. Hsv2 is very rarely an oral infection and when it is sheds so little that oral sex would be so astronomically low risk it wouldn't even be on my radar. Igm hsv2 tests have a long history of bogus false positives. It's such a problem even the conservative CDC is against the testing. Your rash is not hsv2 or hsv1 for that matter.
I am sorry your Dr. Has put you through this and so far has done nothing right. I bet my bottom dollar you are fine.
Please research igm testing for hsv.
Yes that is uncommon. It is possible but very unusual. Most (almost always) the primary outbreak will happen around the area of contraction. For this instance it would be the penis. The fact you have it on both sides can happen but again not usually. Sounds more fungal related. Get your test results and we can go from there. The fact your Dr. Didn't swab the area and bumps didn't do you any favors. That was the proper test to have preformed.
If you did get hsv1 from this it would most certainly have lesions on your penis not the groin fold. I seriously doubt you have hsv from this exposure and again it sounds like you tested positive from an igm test. Please bare with my frustration with Dr's that do not seem to have a clue about hsv. Your test results will help me peace this thing together for you.
I need the details. This is important. It was to soon for an igg test to become positive and igm tests should never be given and are completely unreliable and false positives are very common.
Can you please get the test results from your Dr. I need to know what tests were given. Did your Dr perform a swab test or just blood testing? For your Dr to say you've been recently exposed, leads me to believe they gave you an igm blood test.
Well I will get into all of that once you have the test results
Also doc said the test showed I was recently exposed ! The test was a three days after my breakout and a little over two weeks after exposure
How long after exposure was your blood test? You have very little chance of catching hsv2 from oral sex. Hsv2 is very rarely an oral infection. It also sheds very little.
The symptoms you describe absolutely do not sound like hsv at all. I'm betting your test is positive for hsv1 and it's a long standing oral infection and you don't get cold sores
You can not tell the difference by sight. What you describe does not sound like hsv
