Help link between herpes and lymph node

Are these two connected, the fact that someone could possibly have genital HSV2 which signs had not shown for 7 months after contracting it (that is if it is indeed herpes) and having a neck lymph node which had been very very large in size compared to what the normal size should be for 7 months and then once taking antiviral tablets it slightly shrinks in size. It seems rather strange that neck lymph nodes would increase in size for 7 months for herpes and especially if the herpes was genital? However, the antiviral medication shrinking it also seems rather strange?

Anyone shed any light on this please, thank you

When flu like symptoms appear it would be in the first week or so not 7 months later

Ahh okay, what about if the lymph node began enlarging in the first week or so could it stay enlarged for 7 months even when no other symptoms present themselves. It just seems strange that the enlargement of it decreases if antiviral medicine is taken?

I personly dont feel your nodes have been enlarged for 7 months as do change shape occasionally for many reasons, but if they have been enlarged for 7 months you need to see a doctor about this. Another thing, when we speak of flu like symptoms a sore would develop before the flu for the most part, not after.

Thank you for constantly answering my questions, it really is much appreciated. I mean i have already had blood tests and a Ultra sound on my neck nothing come back cancerous that the specialists saw but they did say it could be because of an underlying infection, what do you think (yeast, fungal? - this could be what is creating herpes like symptoms even though a culture provided positive). They also said it could be due to a infection before and they just remained that size but due to it being reduced because of antiviral tablets these doesn't seem plausible.

I would go with the doctors views on this and test for herpes if you concerned. But those most at risk are in long term monog relationships where one partner is infected.

Update - i took your advice, retested for herpes. I got another culture of a blister (biggest one i had, that was fresh/open/wet done at a hospital - they took two swabs of this. Somehow it came back Negative with all tests being normal. So how is it that I had a positive and then retested with two more swabs and it be negative (apart from the first one either being a false-positive culture or they mixing my results with someone else that i mentioned before)?
