Herpes and Mutual Masturbation

Hello,

Probably this question has been asked before, but I am new to this and don't know where to find it.  Can HSV-2 be transmitted by mutual masturbation (without a condom, obviously)?  The man I was with did not have any visible outbreak at the moment and it was just masturbation without any oral/vaginal/anal contact.  He tells me that it can't be transmitted by masturbation but I guess just the proximity of the risk is enough to make me anxious.

Thank you very much!

Hi grace! I have the same question as well: I'm a gay male and I was wondering if a man has genital herpes and you engage in mutual masturbation (where you touch each other's genitals as well as your own afterwards) with no genital rubbing, is there a high risk if they are on treatment and have had no outbreaks for as long as they've had it? Please and thank you. :)

Hello!

Thank you for your reply!  He has herpes (HSV-2). I am not considering a relationship with him, not because of his condition but because of other reasons.

Thanks again!

it's incredibly low risk and not worth worrying about to be honest.

is this someone who has herpes? are you considering a relationship with them?
