Herpes confusion?

3 and a half months ago I had unprotected sex with a girl I was seeing at the time. 16 days after the encounter I noticed two strange marks on my penile shaft about 3cm away from each other. They were flat and seemed white and circular in appearance. They were not blisters and they really didn't look like ulcers either. They were not wet and were completely painless. Even when I tried to squeeze them to try and see if I could express anything out of them, they remained painless. One of the marks disappeared after about 4-5 days, the other one after 7 days, without crusting. They both just disappeared, and have not reappeared since.

1) I have read that the incubation period for herpes is MOSTLY 2-10 days but can range up to 21 days. What are the odds of an outbreak occurring after 10 days prior to encounter?

2) Are all genital herpes ulcers wet, or can the be dry? would they always crust over on the penile shaft instead of just disappearing?

3) I have read that herpes can be painless...but surely a herpes ulcer would be at least tender, especially if its been touched and squeezed...am I wrong?

I know I should just get a blood test at this point, but in England they are expensive so im confused as to whether I need one.

I don't think my symptoms sound like herpes, but yet I have no idea what else they could have been. So I would be very grateful if someone could just answer my three questions to the best of their knowledge.

Thanks!

No your symptoms do not align with herpes. I'm afraid it is the paranoia as the key issue here.

I realise that I do need to start confronting this issue before hand but at the moment im just really looking for advise in regards to the symptoms I describe.

Im not sure if im paranoid or my symptoms do match up with herpes. I know testing is the only way to be sure but I would just be thankful if I could be provided with at least some clarity in regards to my questions.

Much obliged.

It does seem like each time you have sex with a new person you come here describing a herpes scare. I'm curious that if this is massive issue for you why do you not mutually test with partners before sex?
