Penis problem

Hello,

I am experiencing discomfort, swelling and skin peeling on my penis.  When erection occurs, it is painful. The swelling is on the skin surround the shaft and the peeling is on the head.  There are also small red spots on the head.

I haven't had sex in over a month and before that, it was with 1 person for the previous 3 months.  Only once were we unprotected.  Before her I was protected for years and never had signs of an STD.  I am not circumcised, but I clean thoroughly daily.  The last month, I masturbated a lot.  I thought this may have caused what I have been experiencing.  However, the doctor I saw believes that the small red spots are genital herpes.  I'm looking for other opinions.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

If you have had the red spots for under 48 hours, ask to have them swabbed immediately, to avoid a false negative. You should probably also have an IgG type-specific blood test to give yourself a baseline for future testing.

Your other symptoms do not sound much like herpes. The red spots could also be a number of other things. I recommend seeing a urologist, dermatologist, or infectious disease specialist to rule out as many other conditions as possible. Try not to stress until you know for sure.

Hi did you have any tests performed like a swab of the area? Visual diagnoses is not accurate and most often symptoms like what you describe would be more fungal related. Herpes sores are not flaking skin nor just having red dots on the penis tip.
