Is this herpes or my mind?

On the morning of Apr 1, 2015 (by morning I mean like 3 am) I had an unprotected sexual encounter. Then, on the morning of Apr 2nd, around 8 am, I had large amounts of cottage cheese discharge and went to my student health provider to get screened. Yeast infection results were positive so I thought okay that was it. However, over the next four weeks or so, I was experiencing burning and discomfort on the inside of my vagina. I began to question and research herpes. One night I stayed up stressing over the possibility of herpes and began to feel a tingling sensation. I thought to myself oh no I'm getting an outbreak. I waited for signs of an outbreak... None. Anyway, fast forward to now, for the last year and a month I have had persistent tingling everyday but not one sore or blister. I have had my student health provider swab my genital area ( she didn't see anything, she just swabbed a general area), and it was negative. I have had three negative blood tests, one at three months, one at six months, and one almost a year later. However, the tingling makes me so convinced that it can't be anything else. I have spent so much time on the Internet thst my confusion is so high. What should I do?? (I am also negative for other STDs as well).

Hi
I will try to put your mind at ease as this is most assuredly not herpes. Tingling can be a sign of an up and coming outbreak.  However it never lasts that long and certainly not without an outbreak in a day or so from the onset of tingling. The tingling sensation is the virus crawling along the nerve path.
That being said your tests are negative for a reason. The reason is you don't have hsv. None of yoyr symptoms are that of hsv. If they were you would've had an outbreak. Believe your tests and put your mind at ease and I bet soon you won't notice the tingling anymore.
Those types of sensations are normal and I get them myself. When you become hyper aeare is when you start concentrating on the area thus noticing everything.
Hope this helps
