I have had HSV 2 since 1990's and what I feel is the tingling running down my leg where the spot where I contracted it eventually breaks out there. The sensation was worse for the first few years kind of scary it felt like I was going to break out everywhere down there. From what I have come to known about HSV is the virus moves along the nerves from the base of your spine where it stays while it's dormant. It's fascinating that a virus can move like that also creepy at the same time that something is moving along the nerves to the skin. What I can tell you is that if your not seeing a puss like break out on your skin then it's not HSV. You know when it breaks out not a minor event. It's itchy, burns, crusts over, scabs as much as you try not to touch it find yourself wanting to scratch it. What ever your having a problem with it's not HSV could be some other health issues I would have doctor explore other issues not HSV.
I do believe this is herpes related.
I have cotinoues pene lesions...redness..dry skin..stnging pain when these appear ..thats why i think its related
The western blot is only from the University of Washington. I hate to tell you but I really do not believe this is hsv related at all. You would not get these symptoms and never get lesions with them. Believe your tests and look for a differant solution than its hsv related.
To answer your question. It is possible to have hsv and not make antibodies to fight the virus. It's not common and these folks find out when they have their lesions swabbed.
