Herpes lesion or rubbed raw?

Hi. My question has several important dynamics. First, I just stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago and am vaginally very dry during intercourse. On Sunday, my husband and I had intercourse without lubrication. At first, there was painful friction. By the next morning, it hurt to urinate and I had a whiteish discharge. I called my doctor but couldn't get in until Thursday. In the meantime I treated myself with 3 day monistat thinking it could be a yeast infection. At the doctor on Thursday my FNP asked if I had a history of herpes, which I do not. She said there were 3 lesions or sores right inside my vagina that were healing that could possibly be herpes.  She scraped and swabbed one and did a pap to test for other STDs. In august, I had found out my husband was having an affair and I got tested for everything through bloodwork and cultures. Everything was negative. Since then I have reconciled with my husband. My questions are:
1. He says his affair was online only and didn't involve any intercourse.  Is it possible that if I have herpes i could have tested negative in august but really been positive and that he or I have had it longer than we knew? (I have not had intercourse with anyone but him in 6 years and was tested before we got together so I know I didn't pick it up anywhere else.)
2. Could it just be sores from being too dry during sex?
My results won't be back until Tuesday, and I'm very nervous. Thank you in advance for your time.

make sure that herpes testing was a part of the testing you had done in august. it's not always included in std testing as well as it's not always done properly so it's best to cover that base.

has your husband been tested for std's to know his full status?

many products out there for vaginal dryness issues.  also be sure to use lube every time you have sex too if dryness is an issue. You are probably still fairly sleep deprived with a young child in the house so your hormones can still be a little messed up as well as sometimes it's hard to find the time for proper foreplay to increase lubrication naturally so a little help with a commercial lube is in your best interest so sex is less painful for both of you.

1. Did they do swab test for this ? If yes and if it was negative then you dont have it.

2. Could be if all your other tests are negative.
