Herpes or Not?

About a month and half ago, I gave oral sex to another male.  There were no fluids involved.  I was clothed but he was not, I did take my penis out to stroke it and also stroked his possibly with the same hand.  This lasted maybe 1 or 2 minutes before we stopped.  About 4 days later, I got a cold sore on my lip.  Another day passed and I noticed a bump/lesion on my left face cheek.   I put Abreva on the cold sore and it went away, but the lesion got worse and was sore.  I went to the dermatologist and he removed the lesion and did a culture test and it came back positive for HSV.  The dermatologist was not aware of the oral sex part and thought that maybe I spread it from the cold sore.  He said additional test would be required to determine if it was HSV 1 or HSV 2.  I also had a small lesion come up on my gum later which went away after a few days and a small bump on my nose which also went away.  I took four rounds of Valacyclovir and applied Abreva over a month and half period as well.  I don't know if I already had HSV 1, I don't think so and I'm not sure if I have HSV 2 orofacial herpes or HSV 1.  I've notices some itchy feeling in my anal area and maybe some sensitivity in the groin area but no lesions or sores or anything that looks or feels like the ones on my cheek, gum and nose.  Could I have transferred herpes from his penis to my penis or anus with my hand?  Also before I knew it was herpes on my face, I touched my genitals and anus but the lesion never leaked and I was careful to wash my hands and not touch my face.  I have read that after 3 months there are test that can tell you what type of HSV you have?  I hope I do not have genital HSV as I don't believe I have had the same type of symptoms that I did on my face, lip, nose and gum.  I also have read that HSV 2 on the face very rarely happens, however, if it does then outbreaks rarely re-occur.  I don't want to infect my partner and know that I must be cautious with oral sex going forward, but I also want to make sure I do not have genital herpes.  Wouldn't the symptoms be similar if I had both oral and genital herpes?  I plan to go back to the dermatologist to have him take a look, but I don't know if I should wait to see if there are more symptoms or go at the 3 month mark to have a blood test.  Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

You didn't get genital hsv from this exposure. You would not transfer hsv to your hand then to your genitals.
Also hsv isn't spread around the face when you have oral hsv. It's already in that nerve group and an outbreak can happen anywhere in thst nerve group. Hsv is not concentrated in fluids. It moves along a nerve path to and fromm the surface. Your dr could've had the sample type specific tested.
You can get a herpes type specific igg blood test. Test now and again at twelve weeks.

Just a few follow up questions... when you say its in that that nerve group does that means it could be on my lip, check, nose and gum?  The dermatologist said if I have another outbreak it would be on my cheek in the same spot which was the worst location.  The cold sore might have been something else as it was not real bad.  Will the specific igg blood test give me readings for hsv 1 and hsv 2 for both the oral and genital areas?  thank you
