Can nystatin and triamcinolone trigger a herepes outbreak?

I went to my gyno with severe irritation on my genitals, and burning urination. Initial diagnosis was a yeast infection as well as a bladder infection. She prescribed me diflucan, an antibiotic, and nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream. I wasn't able to immediately pick up the medications, and didn't begin treatment for another 10 hours or so. The next day I was still in moderate pain with extremely painful urination. I continued with the antibiotic and triamcinolone cream. Initially the cream gave me temporary relief. However my condition worsened to the point that i was waking up in pain, and in tears every time i went to the bathroom. I called the doctor in the morning, to report of my worsened condition. My test results were negative for everything but a yeast infection. No bladder infection, no stds. Dr said to stop the antibiotic and take the second diflucan and continue with the cream. She said the burning urination was caused by the yeast infection.
NOW- today when cleaning the area with a pH balancing wash, i see about a dozen pea size red bumps all over my genitals. They don't look like pictures of herpes I've seen, but I'm curious if the steroid in the cream provoked an outbreak of a dormant herpes virus.
About 3 months ago my boyfriend came home vacation with an outbreak of cold sores. We didn't kiss while he had sores. However we have done so, and he has performed oral sex on me as recent at 10 days ago.
Is it likely herpes? if so what do I do? I'm going out of town in the morning and won't be able to see a doctor for a week. How can I stop my condition from worsening?

I stopped using the treatment, and was in the caribbean for a week (i know, lucky me) but the salt water and keeping the area dry helped the bumps go away in about 3 days.

I was tested when I went in last, about 3 days before posting this, and everything came back negative, however I don't believe mine included testing for herpes...i think it's a blood test? Is that something i need to request specifically?
As I mentioned my boyfriend had his first and so far, only, outbreak of cold sores about 3 months ago. He got tested, and cleared of everything else, and i don't remember an official confirmation either way, but he and I were both pretty sure it was the herpes virus.

When I called my doctor's office to report that my condition had gotten worse, one of the first things the nurse said was that it sounded like I was having an allergic reaction to the cream. At this point I hadn't seen the bumps yet, and thought the cream was helping.
Since they cleared up when I discontinued use, is this more likely than a herpes outbreak?

I will be going back to the doctor and request yet another std test, and will be sure to tell them to test for herpes...

In the meantime I REALLY appreciate your response! This was terrifying!

just use plain unscented dove soap in your genital area. no need for any special "ph balancing" soaps.   some of them can be quite irritating to some folks.

at this point, it's best to be seen again.  sounds like you had a humdinger of a vaginitis going on down yonder and the infections can trigger all sorts of skin symptoms as well can the treatments you've been on.

have you and your partner had full std screening that included herpes igg blood testing ?
