Whats the timeline

I gave oral sex to a new man last night and now have 2 small cold sores. Does oral hsv2 break out that fast? I have ohsv1 since childhood could it just be that? Also does performing oral sex sometimes activate type 1 as this is the second time I've got a cold sore after oral sex

Yes could be.

Either way, you have oral HSV1 and not at all likely to obtain an oral HSV2 infection.

Hi thanks for the reply. I will admit I'm always worried about herpes and other stds so start to check myself the next day, maybe that's stressful?

These will be oral HSV-1 related.

The sex itself would only be an issue if it rubbed your lip to cause a weakness that a cold sore might come through. Almost always though there will be a stress related factor at play. Were you anxious about the sexual contact? Do you have sex beaause you're stressed?
