The only reason I could see you needing to test is to relieve anxiety. What you described to me does not sound like a risky counter. Anything is possible, of course, but I really don’t think this is something you need to obsess over. Once the thought of contracting something like HSV enters your head, it’s gonna be hard to shake. You’ll start noticing all sorts of different symptoms. Even things that aren’t there. If I were you, if You get any marks or lesions on your penis or in the genital area, go to an urgent care facility immediately. Being seen by a trained clinician will be important if that happens. I think you need to relax. Deep breath. If you can’t shake the worry or anxiety, then by all means have a test after 12 weeks have passed. It’s a long wait, but it’s a wait you’ll have to endure to get some peace of mind. If you test you only want a type specific IgG test. After 12 weeks, the test is very accurate for HSV two. While no test is totally perfect, The IgG is pretty darn good.
Or you could always test now, as a baseline. So you know your status right now. If you’ve never tested for HSV before, you could have the virus and not be aware. Most people don’t have any recognizable symptoms. If you get a baseline test now and then test again in 12 weeks, from the encounter, then you’ll know your status. Good luck!!
Also I went to my doctor this morning he said I can’t come back until two weeks and he will only test if there are lesions present
Do you believe I should get tested due to the possibility of my exposure or would getting tested mostly help with relieving me from the constant anxiety of may have contracting the virus
If she wasn’t having an outbreak, takes daily meds for suppression and you only quickly rubbed your penis on her vagina...yeah, the risk is super, super low. I would relax.
