HELP!!!!! Please?!?!?!?!!

5 1/2 weeks ago I had an unprotected sexual encounter. ONE vaginal encounter that lasted 10 minutes, he did not ejaculate. I've had no blisters, bumps, or redness. Nothing. However, I'm now having mild inguinal/hip pain. It isn't bad at all. Just a small noticeable something that goes away in seconds. No shooting down my leg or numbness. It's on the right side only. I've inspected daily for weeks...still no lesions. No burning when I urinate. Nothing. Could this be herpes? I tested negative for HSV2, but I tested entirely too early. Still waiting on my 12 week mark for second test. Is this possibly a pain I've never paid attention to, or should I suspect HSV2. Also, I've had sex with my BF since then and he is showing no symptoms either... It says typically 1-3 weeks you'll have an outbreak. How true is this? Should I ignore this or keep worrying?

I'm hoping all will be fine.

There is no real reason to suspect that this partner even has further STDs so I'm sure it will be all clear.

Third chlamydia and gonorrhaea test were negative!!!!! Got my results today! Waiting until the first of January for repeat HIV and HSV testing. So far both my HIV tests were negative. One 56 hours post exposure, one clearview rapid HIV 1/2 antibody test at 5 weeks. No breakouts or anything of the sort (yet), but my original HSV test was useless! Praying for continued negative results!!!!! Thanks for the support. Just talking it out with someone makes it a whole lot better.

Makes sense, just promoting you to be careful, i think you realize that chlamydia is a lot more serious in the end than herpes.

Again, thanks for the info! One night guy was tested... Positive for chlamydia, just as I was. Boyfriend was not tested, but I am a nurse and I know what meds treat what... I suddenly "came down with a sore throat" and had one of the docs write me a Z-pack. I gave him 2 grams at once. If my 3rd test comes back negative, I know he is negative because we had sex multiple times after all that which was a few weeks ago. There is absolutely no way I'd be negative and he'd be positive at this point. Makes sense in my mind, at least.

I'm sure you know that a duo test for HIV is definitive from 4 weeks post exposure. If this is what you had then you're clear there. Your symptoms don't really align with the triad at all.

Two days after the encounter isn't very long for some of the bacteria to be detected. Keep an open mind as to whether your boyfriend is the source for the chlamydia, you don't want that in your system as a female.

Could you ask this one night partner to test?

Yes, negative at 5 weeks... That's the HIV. I used a clearview rapid antibody HIV test. Lesson 300% learned!!! My life has been HELL since the incident. I just had that intuition to be checked. Something in my gut told me to do it. I was totally asymptomatic, but went anyway. Two days after the encounter I had a complete panel ran, was negative for everything except chlamydia. I know it came from him bc I was checked in August and was negative for everything then. I took the zithromax and doxycycline like instructed. My re-test was negative so that was cleared up. But since then my body has been through hell. BV, yeast infections. All diagnosed via wet prep. Every single muscle ache or tingle or itch, I think it's herpes or HIV. Simply because those two tests aren't definite until 12 weeks. This is the ONLY one night stand I've ever had. An it wasn't technically a one night stand because I knew te guy before, and still know him now. He was no stranger to me. Just a terrible mistake. The yeast and BV are causing symptoms of their own which are horrific. And I'm sure the burning and irritation are due to them. No lesions (yet)... Thanks for the chat. :(

But your blood is clear of antibodies after six weeks?

There are some tough lessons in life, I also hope you both learn and have nothing to show for this.

Thanks again for the reply... The thought of herpes scares me to death!!!!!!! I do NOT want that. I think Im dreaming up symptoms. But id rather be prepared than to wake up and see ulcers. These leg pains are worrying me. They arent tingles or feel like its asleep. Its an actual "pain". Almost like a muscle cramp/ bruise feel, but then it goes away as soon as it starts. Mostly in the R groin area.  NO, the guy at the end of the bar is NOT worth a single but of this. It lasted 10 minutes before I made him stop. Nothing was even "finished". I was at the std clinic two days later (56 hours to be exact). I'm a very good girl with a great life and I never act this way. The single time I do...look where I sit. A ball of terror!!!!! "The Guy" ended up having chlamydia, as did I, which I was treated for promptly. My third re-test was yesterday. Results should be in Saturday and I am to call my PCP about those. HOPEFULLY everything else will be at the end of the 12 week wait, as well. I am an RN, and my best friend works in the hospital lab here. She ran a rapid antibody HIV screen on me a few days ago (the 5 week mark) and I was negative, thank The Lord!!!!! 6 more weeks to wait.... Just 6 more... I'm half way there :)

Oh yeah... "The Guy" screen shot text me a copy of his HIV and HEP test and they were negative. How credible? Who knows... But what I saw was negative... Holding out hope!

Pain outside of the area with the sores is not common. Some people do report it, often as tingling, prickles and pins and needles, very common nerve related feelings.

I do concur with the general view if the virus is active enough to cause pain, it would cause an outbreak. This doesn't seem to hold in every case, but most.

I tend to agree with you... it is not always worth contemplating that guy at the end of the bar!

Thanks so much for the reply... Helps settle my nerves a bit. I will NEVER do this again. Oh the self torture has been terrible... Back to my post... I've read (probably should stops research as it makes me crazy) that neurogenic nerve pain happens with HSV2. Is it possible to have this pain without a breakout, or does this usually only accompany breakouts? I'm sure it's only my mind, but terror will make you feel lots of things. I just want to be extra 100% sure of all these symptoms... Thanks again for your reply!

I doubt the hip pain is related in any way to a herpes infection that may have occurred recently. It is true that if you are going to get an initial outbreak it happens 2-10 days after infection.

However you do need a 12 week test for the negative to be conclusive.
