Very Scared..Could I have passed herpes to my 6 year old daughter?

Little background history...I've been married for 13 years monogomously and happy about it.  I've had symptoms of what I thought was genital herpes, got tested in April (IGG select).  Just a month or so ago I found out that the doctor only tested for HSV2 and not HSV1 (didn't know there was a difference).  I had developed a rash on the foreskin of my penis..went in to look at the actual test report and saw that they only tested for HSV2!!!!

I have not went back in for the HSV1 test but will do so tomorrow.

Here's what I am deathly scared about.  About a month ago (during the same time I had a rash) I urinated and handled my penis.  It was right before everyone went to bed (It's nuts during this time with trying to get three kids to bed in time for school the next day).  I finished urinating and maybe 2 minutes later my 6 yr old daughter wanted me to put lotion on her (butt)..that's what she calls the "front part".   I don't like touching my daughter in that way but she was persistant and my wife was busy so I got some diaper rash lotion out and put it on the tip of my index finger and very quickly and "loosely" ie..not pressing the lotion put it on her vagina.   A few minutes later I had realized that I had not washed my hands after urinating!!!!!  Honestly at that time I was worried but didn't know what to do (do I try to wash it off and maybe risk "pushing" any possible virus into her vagina?)  then I thougth well, there's no way the virus would live in diaper rash lotion).

Flash ahead one month.  My daughter starts with dry and itchy red patches on her shoulders and a few days later my wife calls me to tell me that my daughter has been complaining of itching so she goes to put lotion on her and sees 6 raised bumps on her vulva (not inside but on the outside).  We put desitin (diaper rash lotion...no, she doesnt wear diapers..we just had some of that lotion available).  Next day the bumps are gone.

I can't sleep....what if I passed Herpes (which I am not 100% positive I have but if I was a betting man, I'd bet everything I had) to my lovely and innocent daughter who I love more than life itself!!!!

The question..what are the chances that I passed herpes to my daughter by making one swipe with lotion and didn't touch the skin?

I know..it's all speculation.

this was not a risk for transmitting herpes to her if indeed you have it. you don't have to worry.

if your hsv2 igg was negative, every time you have a recurrence of your rash, be seen promptly for exam. if they suspect herpes, they can do a lesion culture, ,not more blood work.
