long term questions

about 2 years ago I had a scare that caused me to get tested for HSV 1 and 2. My HSV 2 came back a 3.26 IGG but was only 40 days after the exposure. I tested again at 5 months and it came back negative 0.00.  Then I had bumps on my penis again, doctor did another , both negative, 0.00. My doctor also did a swab of the bumps, not a cluster of bumps just 3 seperate ones. Everything was negative. He gave me an ointment to put on them and in about 4 days there were gone.  4 weeks ago I had similar bumps to the ones I had before but these scabbed over just a bit, they showed up after masturbation. They showed up on a thursday night and the doctor could not see me until wednesday. They were completely gone within 4 days so I did not make it in to the doctor to get a swab. I did get an Igg test myself and HSV1 was 0.00 but the HSV 2 was 1.60.  I have been to the doctor since and they drew blood and he did a swab on a bump on my tounge that seems unrelated. How likely is it to get a false negative 0.00?? Any opinions on my situation would be apprecitated.  I should add I have had Shingles twice and was told  by the lab tech and doctor it is possible for that virus to be active in my blood stream and cause a false positive on the HSV1 and 2 tests. Thanks for your help.

And last thing, if my first test was a 3.2 wouldn't more than one of my following tests be positive and be of a higher value or at leas the same since the value would be lower early one???

I should add that it was 2 years ago I had the first 3 tests and just had the most recent IGG test last week. I went to the doctor this week and he did another IGG test and I have been having some recurring inflamattion on my tounge and in my mouth. Looking at the inflamattion the doctor did not feel it was herpes and was not going to do any testing until I pretty much begged him to just for my piece of mind. He was concerned about me paying for a test I did not need, which I appreciated, but I have really good insurance so its not a problem.

Well that shouldn't be a problem with the 3 month post exposure test since its been almost 3 years now that I look at the calender again.

Hi, youll need one more blood test to confirm your hsv2 status as you have had 2 low positives. Swabs are only good for showing a positive but with many false negatives.
At this point have the western blot test as this would be conclusive and have it done 3 months post exposure.
