Hmmm. Well I see the spots your are talking about at the bottom opening of your vagina. It’s a pretty nondescript sore. It doesn’t scream herpes but it also doesn’t look like something that came from aggressive intercourse. Your outer labia looks slightly irritated, though that could be from grooming. I know people like to shave/wax bare but this can cause micro tears in the skin, making it easier for bacteria and the like to get in. Especially if the grooming was done shortly before intercourse.
Nothing in these pics screams herpes, especially in the absence of other symptoms. That said, I would still recommend you go to an urgent care and get evaluated and swabbed.
Aside from the small sore and the redness, there isn’t anything that looks that worrisome.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
If you’re going to have symptoms after contracting the virus they usually appear within 2 to 10 days. Sometimes it can take up to 20 days for primary outbreak to happen. That’s not to say that’s what this is but I just want to clear that up for you. What you’re describing is pretty hard to envision. It might be a good idea to post some pictures and you can do so by uploading your images to an alternate photo sharing site and then sharing the links here. That would really be the best way to do so.
Are you having any other symptoms? Any soreness or itching or swollen lymph nodes in your groin, any weird discharge, anything like that? As you stated, HSV can present itself in numerous ways. Sometimes outbreaks are so mild that people have no clue that there actually having an outbreak. Normally I would say, don’t worry. The skin down below is supersensitive and it’s prone to bumps and lumps and all sorts of weird mess. And still I don’t think you should freak out. Since you did have unprotected sex, that muddies the waters a little bit. Any soreness or itching or swollen lymph nodes in your groin, any weird discharge, anything like that? Since you did have unprotected sex, that muddies the waters a little bit. Obviously, unprotected sex increases the chance of transmission in a pretty big way. While condoms aren’t fail safe at preventing transmission, they do tend to protect women a lot better than they would protect men.
I assume you don’t know the hsv status of your most recent partner? Maybe ask to give a bit of relief, though most infected have no idea they have it. Such a double edged sword, hsv is.
If you are worried, I wouldn’t wait until you can get in with your gynecologist. Time is of the essence when it comes to HSV symptoms. If you wait too long to get examined and possibly swabbed, whatever it is on your body might not present a quality sample for an accurate results.
I would go to an urgent care facility. Be seen by a train clinician there. Urgent care facilities have seen it all, so no need to feel embarrassed or shamed, just go. Ask them to examine you and if they find anything suspect, ask for a PCR swab of the areas. I would do this tomorrow. I wouldn’t wait.
