I got test done and are still unsure what’s going on

I had been having sex recently with my gf she showed me her results but the one that caught my eyes is she had came back positive for herpes igg (1.09<) and negative for type 2 herpes. All of her other test for the common stds were negative. In turn I get tested for everything and I’m negative, I had just got my herpes test done today. But when I went to the clinic to get evaluated I’ve been pissing nothing but sharp razor blades and all my common std test were negative…it’s to the point where I can barely **** and actually pee without this happening, my clinician said it’s urethritis and I’ve been taking the medicine but nothing has been helping it subsides it a little bit in the mornings it’s like wtf it hurts starting a stream but when it’s going it’s not that bad. What should I do I’ve looked into this and I should mention I had got shot 2 years ago and had surgery to save my testicle but even after that happened it was the same for my sex life just I had to slow down a little bit because when I cum a lot this type of thing happens but not to this magnitude I’ve never felt this before…can I get any explanations?

What kind of testing did they do at the clinic? When did the pain start?

It's really hard to say if this is herpes or not. Having internal herpes sores can cause the pain you're in, but there are all kinds of other things that can, too.

Also, there are false positives on the hsv2 IgG, and having a non-specific result like 1.09< doesn't help much. (Are you sure that's what it says?) If it's less than 1.09, it's probably a false positive.

Have you been under the care of a urologist since you got shot in the testicle? If this doesn't improve, I'd give them a call.

It happened 8 days ago it started with me trying to pee and I noticed the tip of my penis was kinda inflamed and after sex with my gf I had to open my top open and she even said that doesn’t look good. But her results where positive I’m waiting for mines now we did a blood draw should I have them do an swab she also gave me head but it was for a good 6 minutes and I didn’t go in her throat or nothing and she doesn’t have sores for the one she has (hsv1) but her results was (1.09) and idk if I should have them swab me to see if this is possibly a sore inside my tip or urethra it’s the only thing I’ve noticed no itching or sores externally but what do you think the antibiotics they gave me are kinda helping but the pain is still there what’s your take from all of this

Also she has just found out she might have herpes this isn’t something we knew going into the relationship

Her hsv1 score - a 1.09 - is technically not even a positive. It's equivocal/indeterminate. The cut off is 1.10.

You don't actually know if she has hsv1.

I don't know what's happening with your symptoms. Is it only hurting at the tip of your penis, or all the way down when your pee comes out?

Give it the weekend, and see how you feel. Drink lots of water, avoid alcohol and caffeine. If you do have a sore, the acid in your urine is why it hurts to much. Water will help ease that.

If you aren't a whole lot better by Monday, follow up with the clinic.

Ok so if I squeeze my tip head open it does sting but when I pee it’s the tip the head of my penis where my foreskin connects to my shaft but the pain could radiate to my shaft but it’s really only at my head of my penis

Also something that I also noticed it that when I’m peeing instead of it coming out in a single stream it starts off in 2 and when I really relax and let it get going it eases into a single stream…I really don’t know what’s going on but I’m going to take your advice and go to my doctors office but anything you can think of idea so I can take it to them..

Okay so first, don't squeeze the tip open. Of course that hurts. It also means nothing that it does when you do that.

However, the split stream often indicates a prostate infection or inflammation. The tip of your penis being inflamed can also be caused by that. That would have absolutely nothing to do with herpes.

Yeah I’m going today to have a swab just to be sure I just got my blood labs back today and they both came back negative but everything else is still as is but slowly waning away especially the incontestable having to go pee every 1 or so

You are getting a swab? Just for herpes? That's pointless. Your gf has a inconclusive test, which is almost always negative, and you might have something else entirely going on.

You need to see an actual doctor who can evaluate you for a prostate infection. You need to look beyond STDs at this point.
