Hsv result at 1.14 could be false positive?

Hello I just took an online STD test and came back positive for HSV 1 and 2. HSV 1 was 45.5 and HSV 2 was 1.14. I am not sexually active and have been in a manogomis relationship for 17 years. I have read all over the Internet that anything under 3.50 could be a false positive. Needles to say I'm a bit confused. I am a male and have never had any symptoms of HSV 2 in my life however I have had cold sores ever since I was a kid. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Getting a full std test before moving on to a new relationship is always a good idea!

Did your former partner share her results with you?

Hi also, Its very common for cross reactivity to occur when the hsv1 is a high positive. These area simple protiens picked up on the test. As Grace mentined nothing to concerned about.

My wife and I are split up and she asked my to take a test. Seeing as how I am not sexually active and have only been with her for the last 17 years I didn't see any issue with it. Needles to say when the HSV 2 came back at 1.14 she freaked out. Can you explain at little about the HSV 1 number could effect the HSV 2 since my HSV 1 was so high. And thank you for your time.

This is barely a positive. I would consider your test negative and not even bother repeating it.

Any particular reason why you tested now?
