Is this herpes??

I have test positive for HSV 1 but I have not any symptoms. I have been having dry spots on my penis that I am not sure is my first outbreak. I know that HSV 1 usually cause moutb cold sores but since I have not had any I am curious if I may have genital  HSV 1. The dry spots go away after I apply lotion but come back the next day or later that day. Is this maybe a symptom of herpes as well. I have a picture to post but I am not sure how to post it.

This discussion is related to Rates of asymptomatic ORAL shedding of HSV-2.

Absolutely not. If her hsv2 was genital, which it most certainly is. You are at zero risk.
You would need direct contact with her genital for any possibility of hsv contraction. Even then your odds are small that you woukd ever contract the virus.
She will shed the virus very little on supresive theropy and if you take it further wearing a condom will help greatly as well
Hope this helps

Dear Dr. I hope this message finds you well.i am writing out of concern about hsv2 and have some questions. I met a girl and we had some deep kissing. No sexual contact between genitals, no oral sex. She takes valdyovir regularly. She has not had a break out in over a year. Do I need to be concerned of contracting hsv2 through oral exchange such as deep kissing? Thank you!

Dry spots are not herpes related. Herpes symptoms don't look better with some lotion either. No reason to think this is genital herpes.

Most adults will test + for hsv1. It's incredibly common but only 20-40% of the folks who have hsv1 orally, get obvious cold sores to know it which is why testing is so helpful. http://www.ashasexualhealth.org/stdsstis/herpes/oral-herpes/  has terrific info on oral herpes for more reading.

Keep asking questions!!

I took the IGg test and had results of 2.12, a negative test, and 1.93 in that order. I am waiting on my results from the Western Blot but I am just curios now if I may have HSV 1 genitally.
