My new girlfriend asked me to go for STD testing. I selected the 10 panel test online through STDAlert. All negative except the following:

HSV 1 IgG 4.55 High
HSV 2 IgG 2.82 High

I called their 800 number for validation and the person told me the test is 97% accurate. I have NO signs of genital herpes, never have had. What is the chance that this is s false positive. I had a cold sore below my lip on my face about 2 weeks ago. I tested yesterday.

your herpes, hiv and hepatitis testing was too early at that point. everything else was fine.

at this point, you need to wait until either 3 months post encounter and repeat your herpes igg blood testing then or wait 4 months and seek out a herpes WB blood test to confirm your status.

The last tiime I had sex prior to the test panel was 6-7 weeks prior. Do I need to do another test panel?

your hsv2 igg is a low positive and will need confirmed with further testing. when had you last had sex prior to your test?

I am in the same boat!!! it can infact happen under my understanding...But anything 3.5 and under have chances of being a false positive I am not a professional but that is what I am told.Its pretty crazy isnt it? Get re tested...see what happens... Good Luck to you!!
