Hi, yes theres a chance its a false positive. To make this quick the biokit is hsv2 specific. You can also contact the lab at the university of washington direct and they will instruct you how to do this.
I cannot seem to locate anyone who knows anything about the Biokit or the Western Blot test. I am getting very frustrated. My dr's office is treating me like I am some idiot who just in denial about my results. How the heck do I get my hands on the Biokit or Western Blot tests near Philadelphia?????????
With a score of 1.35 and never any outbreak, chances that this is a false positive are in your favor. Scores this low are most often when the test is taken to early and implies a recent infection.
All you have to do is call the University of Washington and inquire about the WB. they will guide you on this or call Quest Diagnostics, the WB test code is 34534.
Let us know how you make out
So I just had another round of IGG testing and they also added IGM tests. Here are the results, if I am reading the paper correctly. No call from the Dr, just a letter with this information....
HSV 2 IGG - 2.30 ( I think) no positive remarks, just [H] 2.30...????
Igm HSV 1 - negative
igm HSV 2 - negative
now what????? I am even more confused now than before.
If it's a type specific IgG test (which it appears to be) the scoring is as follows:
1 = Positive. The longer you have the infection, the higher this your number becomes ( theoretically).
From your results, you went from an initial weak positive, to a stronger positive for hsv2. Disregard the igM results.
I'm sorry its not letting me start the post with symbols. 1 = Positive
Still a low positive score though. I need to get the WB test i think
