Low positive. Should I tell my current partner?

So I just started having protected sex with someone, but after two popped condom incidents, I decided to get tested. I’ve been negative for everything, but decided to test HSV 1 & 2. I got a .91 for HSV1 and a 1.18 for HSV2. These are both really low, and before my current partner I had consistent sex with my ex gf for 3 years, up until this March when we split. I’m ordering a western blot for a retest, but I feel like I should update the girl i’m currently seeing. I really like her and want to do right by her. It just sucks because she’s a paranoid germaphobe  so I can’t imagine how this will go over, and also when we first started hooking up I told her how I hate condom sex and wanted us to work up to losing them so now it doesn’t look so great for me. What advice do you guys have? The positive is so low and I have had 0 outbreak signs. I honestly wasn’t thinking and just got tested for everything and now I wish i’d just taken doctor’s advice to not test HSV unless experiencing symptoms. What y’all think?

I agree with Buntyyy. We don't know the dynamic, of course, but open communication is really important to building trust in a relationship.

The chances that this is a false positive is really high, but still, would you want to know if the situation was reversed?

Disclosing isn't always about risk, but about trust. Have you all had an STI talk?

yes we have. and regardless of how the results show Wednesday on the retest, i’m gonna communicate everything to her. honestly just debating on if I should call her before or wait until Wed to have a better idea. I spoke with Terri and she said waiting may be best and WB obv if the test doesn’t show neg.
It's likely going to be a couple of weeks before you get the results of the WB back. When did you have that done?

Only you know how she'll react to this. If you think she'll panic, either because of the possibility or because of the lack of complete info, maybe wait. It's up to you.

Was it IGG or IGM tests?

Most people are asymptomatic. However, your results are in the equivocal range. Western Blot is a good idea and will provide you with more clarity on it.

Having proper communication with your partner is important. No one here knows the dynamic between you two but I would suggest telling her and embarking on this testing journey together. It can be a tense and difficult situation but together you will make through it :)
