Monogamous rela. Herpes or other infection

Me and my wife were virgins untill marrige and post marrige didnt have any other sexual contact till date. Nither of us had any cold sore and we have complete trust in our relationship.
I had a penile rash and a smear test confirmed candida infection for which cotrimazole tropical application along with antibiotics and antiallergic was prescribed. This medication could not cure the burning sensation and dots like appearance on my glans penis.
1 month later I consulted another Dermatologist (specialist) and was advised to undergo HSV 1 and 2 test for IgG and IgM antibody. My results were equivocal and I was prescribed Acyclovir oraly as well as Tropically. On taking this medication I got relief from burning sensation in 3-4 days time and on 15 day I was prescribed to continue the medication for 6 mts. duration. My question is:
1. Can I contract HSV 1 and 2 in a relationship I described or is there any other possible cause.
2. Does IgG and IgM level increase because of a another infection which may not be Herpes.
3. After I was found equivocal, My wife result for IgG and IgM were found negative. We had safe sex since the time of my penile rash. Does she stands a risk being infected and still test negative as she was 6 mts. pregnant and her body might have not shown an auto immune response.
4. She does not have any symptom but can her test be false negative.
5. My penile rashes do not seem to apper and diappear as is usually described but are rather visible throughout, do they indicate any other infection.

I disagree with the way your provider has been treating you so far.

If both of you were virgins and haven't had any other partners - it's very unlikely that hsv2 is a part of your relationship.  evquivocal hsv2 igg results are actually negative results.   It sounds like your provider just doesn't understand how to read the test results.

Since your wife is pregnant - I would not have any genital contact with her until you get this all cleared up completely.

You and she could have both been infected before your marriage. Most people get HSV1 as kids.
