Need information

20 days since an unprotected oral sex contact with a csw.. No symptoms of any kind till yet n d csw also seemed fine.. no visible sore on her mouth bt have no idea if they were inside her mouth or not.. even no visible signs on my genitals area since then. a lil bit of itching is sometimes there bt i guess its really hot weather here so maybe a little uncomfort is because of that.. (no unusual discomfort or discharge from the genital area)
Can anyone pls tell me hw can i confirm that i do not have herpes..

herpes pcr blood testing isn't what you want done. it's not helpful for determining infection since herpes isn't a blood borne virus.

no real reason for herpes testing from this encounter.

The only type specific test available that i could find out here is the hsv PCR tests.... which is way out of my budget... or take a swab from the fresh sore (i have had no sores)...
like i said i had the blood serum test for -herpes simplex 1+2 virus, antibodies panel, igg and igm, serum...
Results say its non reactive.. (at 74 days)
Its been 15 weeks nw since possible exposure (recieved unprotected oral)... no symptoms as of yet.. no sores on genitals... should i take that test again to be sure...
Pls help...

Testing fo herpes was done early???? i thought testing after 6 weeks was ok... i took d Hiv & herpes tests bcz these scare me d most n i just wanted to b sure that m nt infected by them...
do u think tat even if there is a impossible chance fr me to b infected by them, these two tests after nearly 11 weeks r enough so that i cn atleast put these two behind me...

we don't recommend blood testing for chlamydia. It's very inaccurate. better to repeat that testing with urine testing. you can also get urine testing for gonorrhea done too. much easier to pee in a cup than to have a swab stuck down your urethra.

you never needed testing for hiv from receiving oral sex either.

you've had no symptoms for herpes so even though your testing was done early ( and honestly I"m not sure you had type specific testing done either ), no reason to repeat it.

74 days since possible exposure.. Took the following tests-
1. hiv 1/2 & p24 combo test
results say non reactive..
2. herpes simplex 1+2 virus, antibodies panel, igg and igm, serum...
Results say its non reactive..
3. chlamydia bivalent antibody *chlamydia igg antibody
Results- awaited
4. The only test available for gonorrhea was the gonococous culture.. needed a sample of the infected portion.. bt i had no infected portion...

Grace i took these tests... pls comment as soon as u can on these 4 points...

Well that sucks... :(
Anyways she told me it ws immediately after we were intimate and got ok in a day or so.. i googled a bit more and concluded that since d symptoms of any stds dont show up that quick, it might have been a condom rash or something. (i say this because i was very cautious while we had sex. i used d pull out method, even with the condom on.)
Well m getting tested next week.. Maybe that will give me a sure answer instead of working on all these theories..

yes you can still transmit some infections even with condoms.

she should also see her provider for a proper exam.

Thanks for d response..
Actually me and my gf never used condoms.. except this time (till i am convinced  i am negative for any stds)..
but the problem is she said she got a rash after protected sex a little inside her private parts.. a little pain too... is it possible that even after using a condom i could infect her with anything??

it's a holiday weekend here in the US. most of us are either working or having fun ( or waiting for the rain to stop like I am!!! ). please be patient :)

you've had no symptoms. move forward and stop worrying about this! your guilt from the encounter is more of an issue than your actual risk of a std was.

if you really need peace of mind, seek out testing for chlamydia , gonorrhea and syphilis now - it' sbeen long enough.

yes you can contract other std's from unprotected oral. ngu is the most common though you can also contract chlamydia and gonorrhea from receiving oral sex. typically we don't recommend any testing unless you develop symptoms.

you can contract syphilis from receiving oral but the odds of that is incredibly small and very unlikely.

never a bad idea to get tested to know what your own status is.

typically, if you contract hsv1 from receiving unprotected oral, symptoms will occur within 2-20 days after the encounter.

we recommend always having protected contact - it protects you, saves you frequent testing as well as saves you from worrying!
