Swhen can i expect seroconversion to hsv2 while having hsv1 for 25 years.

I hsve tested negative for hsv2 at 13 weeks post exposure. I would feel relieved with the results but I'm having slight/mild burning sensation under my penis shaft and same area was shaved prior to the encounter making it easy transmition. When can I be comfortable with the results. I've read having hsv1 can slow down seroconversion 2 to 3 wks so let's just say I tested negative at 10 wks. I appreciate your time in addressing my issues. Thank you so much.

Hi aunt j. Just want to thank you for all your advice and I wanted to give an update seeing not alot of people do so. The burning feel I had for months ended up being some form of sabacious cyst after doing a biopsy. I've never experienced the typical herpes lesions and I did a western blot at 16 and again around 26 weeks. All negative. You guys are truly amazing and I appreciate all that u do. I want to pay it forward and add advice and help newcomers as I learned so much on this topic in these 6 months

I'm glad to hear you are negative, and that you got some answers. Thanks for letting us know what ended up causing your pain - not many do. I hope you get some relief now. :)
Hi aunt jess. I recently went to a different dermatologist because the bump I described kind of never left she did another biopsy and this time it came back as hpv cells being detected. Before that I again let my anxiety get the best of me and had another western blot done and thus would of put me at 34 weeks post the encounter. It was negative and as I waited for those results I had another igG done at around 9 months exactly and it too was negative for type 2. This whole time I've never experienced open lesions like hsv does. Should I stop testing for it? Have you witnessed anyone in my shoes come back after testing negative up to 9 months and claim they showed positive, like a year later? From the same exposure of coarse. If I obviously had hpv symptoms of for sure had classic hsv symptoms wouldn't u think? After I got a diagnosis as bad as it seems I feel a little better about it. The derm said they looked for herpes and hpv and other things and hpv is what was found nothing else. Is it true that the immune system can completely eradicate it as in cure hpv from your body and not be infectious to others. It was like a pimple like bump under the skin. Not even cauliflower looking and looked nothing like what u see online. Maybe my immune system wouldn't let it come full force. Idk. Thank you for your time and everything you do here. I appreciate your knowledge. Have a great rest of the week.
Oh no. Stop testing for herpes. I told you ages ago that you were conclusively negative. I'm not doing this again. You shouldn't either. You've had at least 13 tests done, including at least 2 WB, (I stopped counting at 13). They can't all be wrong.

Yes, HPV will clear your body within 2 years, and you will not be infectious. Upwards of 90% of people get HPV at least once in their lifetimes - you are not alone.

Thanks for everything aunt jess. Just a quick update for you and a few silly questions for you because you've been here helping people for a long time and seen many come and go.. at my 1 year mark I decided to do another igG test (I kno I kno lol) only because the girl that I was with has hsv2. It's just scary to me that people find out later in life and have low numbers at that. It was negative for type 2 and always positive for type 1. My silly questions are if my hsv1 antibodies attacking hsv2 upon infection either clearing it or it goes into hiding meaning undetected from the immune  system so it won't generate  hsv2 antibodies until later. I kno that's a silly question because hsv1 or not hsv2 will still shed alot in the first 6 months so it will eventually be detected by the immune system, but I wanted to get your opinion. Also if I clearly showed symptoms of hpv ( that's said doesn't cause symptoms But can cause irritation and burning) and after the traumas of cryotherapy and 2 biopsies I'm sure that would of caused a classical hsv2 outbreak. Would you agree with that logic. I am done testing and even the people at U o W told me in all their years they've never seen someone western blot take longer than 5 months for positive results that made me feel a little relieved. So I'm hoping for the same results this time around. Thanks for everything u do here and God bless you.
Nope. We aren't doing all your "what if" questions.

You don't have hsv2. Scientifically, it isn't possible. Antibodies don't go into hiding, and you even talked to the people at Univ of Washington.

You've had at least 14 tests, both IgG and WB.  13 have been negative, and this one will be, too.

Yes, if you had cryotherapy and biopsies, I'd say that could trigger an hsv2 outbreak if you had hsv2, which YOU DO NOT.

It's time for therapy for this. You can't let it go, despite all evidence and logic to the contrary. Your mental health is as important as your physical health, and your mental health is suffering. You had sex one time with an hsv2+ female who wasn't having an outbreak. It's been a year. LET IT GO.

I'm not judging you. Consider it tough love. You deserve to find peace.

I haven't read much that supports hsv1 delaying hsv2, but even if we go with that, you could test at 20 weeks instead of 16 and be totally confident in your results.

Most will test positive by 6 weeks, so your negative at 13 weeks is a great indication. The slight burning you feel wouldn't be due to herpes unless you've had an actual outbreak. Have you spoken to your doctor about that?

Thank you for your reply. It's not an obvious ob like the classic ones u see. No puss or blister or nothing like that but it could be a fissure, I'm not sure this is a tricky virus and effects everyone differently is the scary thing.
With it being like that for every bit of 2 months I'd assume I'd have atleast an equivocal at 13 weeks from last sexual exposure and honestly 14 wk and a few days from when the date of concern happened.
A herpes outbreak wouldn't last 2 months. Has your doctor checked you out? A fissure is a good possibility. Yes, herpes is somewhat different for everyone, but it wouldn't last that long for anyone.
