Positive swab negative blood???

So I have had gh for 3 years now. I get about the average 3-4 outbreaks a year but cut them off quickly with meds. My swab test for my initial outbreak was positive for hsv1... Dam blowjob... But since then I have had 4 western blot and igg/igm blood tests for both HSV1 and 2... All negative. Trust me even my doctor is amazed by this.... Any takers on why this could be???

Some people with hsv1 don't test pos for it. The hsv1 test isn't quite as accurate as the hsv2. That being said if you have lesions swabbed and the virus is present then it would be positive. Blood tests are looking for antibodies and the swab will find the virus itself. Thats why the swab always trumps the blood test.

What you're saying doesn't make sense. So then how can anyone say for a matter of fact they don't have HSV1 on this planet. I have taken 20+ IGG blood tests and 1 Western Blot. I am also negative for all like this topic starter.

However, my swabs on lesions were negative. The fact I had lesions to begin with is concerning since I never had them up until that time. So you're saying I'll never know my status as matter of fact because for some reason I won't test positive ever? Makes no sense.

Then anybody who tests negative for HSV1 should never trust the result because they could be in that "certain group" that won't test positive on these things even when truly positive.

That's insane. The HSV1 should not even be offered as a test if the inconsistencies are this bad. It's clear many people could be positive (myself included) and just won't ever test positive.
If 1/10 people with HSV-1 never test positive and never have a lesion to swab, then what? Should they just live their life assuming they have it since they have the other symptoms relative to HSV-1?

Since the swab was positive it would overrule any blood test. There are people who never test positive with a blood test.

How is that possible? Doesn't make sense. Even though my swab was negative, I personally had clear HSV symptoms and odd lesions. My blood tests are also all negative. This mean I have HSV1 as well? How can I ever know then?
Life your stance on this has changed since I've last been on here. You are now acknowledging that certain people can have herpes, test routinely negative, and still spread this disease potentially because they are in fact positive contrary to the tests? Any evidence to why you now believe this where as in the past never would state such a thing.
