Exposure 30 days ago

I posted a few weeks ago after having sex with a woman who is positive for hsv2. I wore a condom but it broke and I most likely didn't notice for 10 or 15 minutes. It has now been 30 days with no symptoms or lesions.

What are the chances that I could have an asymptomatic infection? Or that I just haven't had an outbreak yet? Is this something that I should still be worrying about?

I know a test won't do me any good until at least 3 months. It just has me worried, as I have a new love interest and would like to know my status before pursuing. I know I was negative for everything before this as I was tested in January.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

You can absolutely have protected sex. The lesions would most certainly appear on tbe penis shaft.

Thank you once again!

I had to ask since I don't truly know my status yet. I want to keep other partners safe.
I am freaking out right now feelingundone.

I just got a shower and when I got out I noticed a small area of about 7 or 8 red spots on the head of my penis. They are about the size of a tiny pin prick. There is also a small red area directly underneath them on the shaft and where I was circumcised.

I don't know if these are the first signs of lesions. It has been 37 days since exposure with no symptoms until this.

I did have sex last night and received pretty aggressive oral. I don't know if these are from her teeth and the aggressiveness or a first sign from my last exposure.

Please help!I'm totally freaking out right now.
I should note that I had sex multiple times over the course of a few hours. At times it did get very aggressive. I am hoping that these very small spots are because of that? I was pretty sore when I woke up today bc of all the activity last night but that has faded by the end of today.

They are not painful or itchy at all. I have just been on very high alert and this is the first I have seen of anything since my previous exposure

Short answer no. If it has a hair then its not hsv

One more question if I may.

Isn't safe for me to have protected sex at this time, since I have not. shown any symptoms, and since you believe that I did not contract the virus?
I meant, is it* safe for me to have protected sex?

Sorry for the typo
Also, where would possible lesions first show themselves? Meaning would it be more likely to be on the actual head and shaft other then the scrotum?

Or could it show on the scrotum first and only show there, and noplace else?

Yes. Within 10 days you would most likely have had a noticeable outbreak.

One more question.

Can herpes infect a hair follicle? Maybe 5 days afterwards at the very bottom and back of the scrotum I had a red bump that was painful only when touched or when it rubbed my inner thigh. It was a hair follicle since it did have a hair in the middle of it. It subsided within a few days and never turned into anything other then a slight red raised spot.

I'm pretty sure it was just from sweating while at work, but that was the only thing that I have noticed in the time.

Most people have a primary. Some are very mild but when someone is on high alert, they would notice. You can test at 8 weeks as that is a great indicator. Well over 80% would test pos by then.

I think I will do that and test at 8 weeks then. Thank you again for your response, it is greatly appreciated. Everything you have said to me seems to be encouraging.

So, all in all I should have seen some kind of visual symptom by now? It has been 30 days since contact.

Your odds of contracting the virus was very low. The fact you didn't have an outbreak within ten days is further evidence you were not infected. Truely asymptomatic infections happen but it's far more likely you would have had symptoms.
All in all i wouldn't be overly concerned but testing at 12 weeks is the propper course of action.

Thank you very much for the quick response. I'm sorry for bringing it up to you again, but you are very knowledgeable. I'm just trying to keep calm and get through the next 8 weeks.

I should also probably mention that I don't seem to have the greatest immune system as I tend to catch every cold that walks by me. So I'm guessing I would have seen something by now based on that.
