Quite Confused

About 8 months ago I noticed a single raised red bump on the right side of my glans,  on the bend where the tip and back meet. I am circumsized, and about 2 weeks prior I made a winning combination of  unprotected sex and vigorous masturbation with a very dirty sock (very drunk). The bump eventually descended into the glans but remained in the same spot, and that exact location is red to this day. Soon after this, I left to live in another country, and due to my situation there underwent a great deal of stress which is only recently improving. The spot did not move and did not change much at all, but became very painful. It would ache and generate stabbing sensations, first locally, throughout the day and without being touched or even making contact with my clothing. The next development I noticed was that a small and patchy rash would begin to spread along the glans following masturbation, and the pain generally increased and intensified. I was tested for HIV/ AIDS at this point and the test came back negative. One night, I had stabbing and shooting pain throughout my entire glans. I was also sick at this time with a high fever and flu like symptoms, but this may have been due to the environment as I am now living in a not so clean part of asia and as fellow foreigners were also getting sick. I met my girlfriend and started having only protected sex with her in the beginning, but found that condoms also made this condition much worse, especially the variable rash.

I was tested at this point for all the bacterial STDS and HIV AIDS, twice, with 3 weeks in between, and all tests came back negative. I became increasingly worried it was herpes and eventually went to a fully credentialed and highly rated hospital and had a biopsy on the area and a blood test for herpes simultaneously, both of which came back completely negative. The dermatologist there told me there was no abnormality in my skin whatsoever, but did visually note my lesion, which at this point had spread temporarily around the site of the biopsy in the form of tiny greyish blisters. His best guess was that it was a "simple skin disease" My entire glans is almost always wrinkled now in appearance, as if extremely dry, although it is not extremely dry. I have now seen at least 8 different doctors, undergone 2 full courses of herpes treatment including avacyclovir and anti-viral pills, and I have self-medicated using athlete's foot cream and over-the-counter hydrocortizone to no avail and no major improvement whatsoever.

The pain has greatly diminished but it still comes at times, with less frequency and intensity. There were a few days when it seemed to be improving a bit, but any kind of activity, even handling myself, renews the problem. I also noticed a slight non painful purple discoloration along the top ridge of my glans and often the bottom fins of my glans are ringed with small red internal rashes. It is never itchy and I have never had a blister pop or release fluid, though one time earlier in the condition I believe I urinated a white discharge.

I am completely stumped, discouraged and quite worried at this point and would be utterly grateful for any assistance or advice you could give. Living in a foreign country without proficiency in the language has certainly not helped things.

Thanks very much for your reply. It's just very easy to work oneself into a panic. I began to worry that the test could have been a false negative, but I believe you are right

Herpes would not stick around basically unchanged for 8 months. There would be definite periods of no symptoms whatsoever.  To boot your blood test was negative. It's time to move past herpes as a possibility.
