contracting herpes through non-sexual contact

I recently met someone that has herpes and I enjoy her company. If we don't have sex can I catch it from her if I hug, dance or casually brush up against her?

molluscum is different from herpes. You can contract mc from surfaces but you can't contract hsv that way.

have you ever been tested for herpes to know your own status? You and a partner can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you know who has what.

does your partner have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? Do you know how they treat it?

Thanks for the info. I read up on it at CDC. The only reason I asked is because last year I contracted Molluscum Contagioso with having sexual contact with anyone.

These activities aren't a concern for HSV.  You should read up on HSV at the below site to learn more about herpes.
