Herpes?

Okay so I still have two cuts in my vagina & it stings when I pee when it runs over the cuts. Now I have a red bump on the inside of my vagina lip. There's nothing on it, it's just a small bump. I got an appointment to go see my Gyno today but I'm still freaking out that it might be herpes. This is the same thing that happened to me a little less than a year ago when I also thought I had herpes. I got tested & it came back negative but now I'm wondering if the test could've been wrong. Please help!

Hi, if a person is to have genital herpes hsv1 is the one to have. You will have not many outbreaks in your life and it does not shed that often. Most likely you got it from oral sex. You can download  "the updated herpes handbook" by terri warren and will explain much more in detail about this. Its free download.

& would you recommend that I take medicine for it everyday or just when I feel it coming? Since I've only got it twice in the past year idk what I should do. Also, will my parents find out if I decide to take it everyday? Like will they know about my prescriptions?

It was a swab, positive for hsv1. But how is that different from hsv2? I'm so confused

If both of your tests were blood and positive for hsv1 then it could be  oral but hsv1 can be genital as well. The only way to confirm genital hsv1 is a swab.

I would suggest to contact the doctor and ask him/her instead of needless  worry.

So I got my test results back. It came back positive for Type 1 & negative for Type 2. I'm still a bit confused because I thought type 1 was only oral herpes. The doctor didn't explain it well to me. Can you please explain it more to me?

Hi, these tests are 90-95% accurate so i would trust the results.

But at the same time the doctor never told me what the cuts/bump was from. I have no idea where they came from & now it's happening again
