Single bump

I am male and have suffered from mouth cold sores since I was in elementary school. In March, 2013 (10 months ago) I had vaginal sex with a condom and then unprotected anal sex with her. A week later She told me that she feared that she had hsv 2. I had itching everywhere, and basically symptoms all related to anxiety and worrying over my possible contraction.

I visited the dr many times and they said I did not have herpes. I thought I had a very microscopic bump on my penis but they tested it and said it was nothing.

I have had genital itching ever since and just recently over Christmas week I had a reddish bump on my scrotum and then a couple other small bumps. A week later they had sorta scabbed over with a dot scab. I went to the dr and they diagnosed it as possible yeast infection and said it's definitely not herpes. They gave me yeast and itch ointment and a week later everything was gone.

A month later (2 weeks ago) I noticed another single red bump on the other side of my scrotum and a reddish rash but no other bumps. It was itchy and the bump was painful if squeezed. A few days later the bump looks like whitish skin and the rash as gone away. It's been 9 days since the bump appeared and it is still in its skin/whitish state. I do still have itching and tingling though.

About 6 days ago my girlfriend developed a single bump at the bottom of her vagina opening right inside in the middle. The bump is red but blends in with the rest. It is very hard and she said it hurts to touch. She has no other symptoms. She and I had sex with my boxers on and my bare penis exposed through the boxers hole. The bump on me had healed and she kept telling me that it was nothing but I insisted that I must keep my scrotum blocked. Now I feel terrible because not only am I afraid for myself, I feel much worse that I might have given it to her.

When I was tested 7 months ago I had only negatives for everything. She was also tested just in case and ended up only having a yeast infection (that she had no idea about).

Any thoughts?

Yes it can be its really not common. Its just not an area that is associate with herpes.
Not sure about your girl but its always good to have a checkup once in a while esp for the ladies.

Thank you Life360 for your quick response. As you know it's very much appreciated in situations like this. I have read that the scrotum can have outbreaks though? Any thoughts on what is going on with my girlfriend? Btw I might not have been clear but the girl I was with 10 months ago was BEFORE my current girlfriend. My girlfriend is getting tested on Thursday. Thank you again for your advice

Hi, of course only testing would confirm but recurrent outbreaks dont normally occur in the scrotum area as the skin is to thick and herpes prefers the path of least resistance. And would not be an area for a new infection to occur either as new infection breakout at point of contact like the penis shaft or the pubic mound area. Really does not appear as herpes but as the dr said more of a fungal infection.
If your concerned youve past it to your girl from having an outbreak in the scrotum area, if it were herpes there, the only way for her to contract it is to have her vagina come in contact with your scrotum during sex which is highly unlikely do to positioning.
