Sounds like your doing ok...the anxiety of the unknown is the biggest *****!
Just be sure that you DR does a full panel of STD's. Many things act similar. Hopefully it will pass and just end up being some random skin condition. Best to you!
Finally received my test results back today for my 13 weeks post exposure blood test and both HSV-1 & 2 are negative. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel, Doc had started me on 1G azithromycin a week for 4 weeks and said continue it until all symptoms go away. I'm already feeling better, still have some irritation but finally see light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck and please keep us posted with a new thread.
Saw the doc again yesterday and he still says this doesn't look like herpes even with all the sypmtoms I describe and show him. He agreed to blood test again for HSV1 & 2 and this is at weeks 13 post exposure. Wish me luck that it's negative. Thanks
Hi, can you start a new post and will answer there as mixing threads is not allowed.
If the herpes test only shows positive post 3 months from exposure, then my partner had Herpes before he had unprotected sex with me. I have had cold sores before and so knew about oral but have now tested positive for HSV 2. Is it possible he has HSV 2 and gave it to me?
Redness yes. The blister could be anything. All you can do at this point is to follow up with the doctor and have the herpes test 3 months post exposur. To bad he did not do a culture of the lesion. If you have another one, have the doctor swabb it for a culture but it needs to be done within 48 hours after appearing.
Would a fungus explain the single blister and redness?
Hi, testing for herpes would be 3 months post exposure. Sometimes UTI,s are a bit hard to clear up and would need a follow up with your doctor. Topical skin irritations are more often from a fungus.
