Test Results came back today?

I went for my blood test on Monday 8/31, exactly 12 weeks after possible infection.
Here are my results from the Quest:
Test Name                              In Range      Out of Range   Reference Range
HSV 1 IGG Herpeselect AB       0.51                                  0.00-0.89 Index
HSV 2 IGG Herpeselect AB       0.08                                  0.00-0.89 Index

According to my results I'm Negative. Should I retest? And if so when?

If it's no big deal for your insuranc... Have a western blot done at 6-12 months.

Like Grace says, you should be fine and it's a very small probabilty that you haven't tested positive via IgG by now if you will later.

Just make sure your 6-12 month test is a good one, as false positives are still possible if you retest.  WB is the best way to go for the results you want.

Cheers,

Borat

I want to thank everyone who answered my questions. If I do decide to retest should I go with the Herpeselect IGG again, or the Westernblot? And at what time frame?

there's no real reason for any further testing.

congrats on being negative and at this point work on putting this behind you.

Sorry, I meant to say I would probably test in another 8 to 12 weeks (NOT MONTHS) just for a peace of mind.

According to one of MedHelp's post in the expert forum, the testing window can be 3 months, or up to 16 weeks. A 12 week negative result looks promising, however. Still, I would probably test in another 8 to 12 months just for a peace of mind. You can never be too safe!
