Is testing needed?

Let me start by saying this is a male on male scenario.

Mid November I had contact with a random partner. My first and only sexual experience ever. I asked before if he had and stds and was told no. I didn’t see any lesions or discoloration to be concerned of. The had a small amount of mutual oral and masterbation and very gentle penis a scrotum rubbing. There was never any of his semen on me. I do routinely shave but would have been a few days before this event. And I showered immediately after.

A month after I had a lot of anxiety of my exposure and had comprehensive std exam done but the dr. Refused to blood test for herpes because there were no symptoms.

This bring us to now. Mid July I had localized burning sensation on one side of my scrotum which subsided after 6-12 hours but I had a some slight swelling and redness of the skin. The burning has never returned but the redness has remained for 3 weeks. Never had any blisters or lesions or any other symptom. I have recently started running as well as the temp. In my area has significantly increased causing me to sweat significantly. Thought I is chaffing but my anxiety is nagging.

1.My questions would be do you feel this is herpes?

2.Would a blood test be warranted?

Thank you

Your exposure was a very low risk and your symotoms are not herpes related. If it were me i wouldn't test after this low risk encounter. Condoms, even for oral will help keep you safer in tbe future.
