another false positive person

I just wanted to share my false positive experience so others can get benefit the same way I benefited from this site.

After my long marriage ended I made some bad decisions and saw a few prostitutes.   all protected exception one with unprotected oral.

I decided enough with the prostitutes and wanted to start dating so I got the full STD test.

I was devastated as the the IGG blood test came back as unequivocal 1.09 for hsv1 and positive 1.66 for hsv2.

I did a lot of reading a found this site where numerous people had reported false positives.   So I got retested two weeks later and both came back negative 0.64 hsv1 and 0.26 hsv2.

I was so happy I danced around my apartment for a half hour.

Sounds like a good way to start the weekend!

As a reminder to everyone who may be reading this: make sure you're testing at least 16 weeks from last possible exposure for conclusive IgG test results. As it can take anywhere from 3-4 months for someone to fully seroconvert.

I Just Had The Same Thing Happen. First IgG Came Back 1.0 For Hsv2.

2 Weeks Later, Negative @ .3. It Was A Crazy 2 Weeks!

Good lesson. Low positive HSV2 IgG results often are false. With HerpeSelect, the most commonly used test, 1.1 is offiically positive but only results of 3.5 or higher are proof of infection.
