gave ** to a man with a potential herpes outbreak

Last night I engaged in sexual activity with a man I have recently begun to see. Originally we were just in our underwear grinding until eventually we began to explore a bit more. He was initially very odd about taking off his underwear, though eventually did so. I began to go down on him, only realising when my mouth was on his penis that it was covered in little open sores. Immediately, I was incredibly concerned and asked him about it. He told me that a month prior he had gone to a dermatologist because he was itchy and had gotten a sore around his groin and then dermatologist told him it was probably scabies and gave him a cream to use (what kind of dermatologist wouldn't realise this was most likely an std IDK but whatever) so he was trying not to be worried about it as he had used the cream but for some reason was still getting sores around his penis. So, he has promised to go get tested but the fact of the matter is 1. I am about 95% sure he has a herpes outbreak and 2. UM I PUT MY MOUTH ON HIS DICK. so I guess what I'm asking is, what should I personally be concerned about? How high are the chances I have now contracted HSV-1 or 2 from this encounter and if I don't see any symptoms of oral herpes in the next few months, how long do I wait to go get tested?
