You'll surprise yourself with what happens to you physically if you are true to the outlook you describe above... good luck!
Hi Fleetwood and life360
Thanks for your advise and feedback so far, Since you both spent more time for my post.
I am so afraid of HSV 2 infection since most of the doctors here told that iam
I am infected by herpes based on my igm positive and my burning & red patchstraight cuts on my genital .
But I will belive you both feefback And will start new life without herpes thought
.
No it is not quite as accurate, but it is damn close. If you are in NZ you are unlikely to be able to obtain a Westernblot test in any event.
This is academic. You are not infected, you will never seroconvert as a result of the exposure that concerns you. Your results show you have below the level of 'antibody' (meaning random noise) that the test is capable of. Your blood has absolutely no trace of HSV antibodies just shy of 180 days post exposure.
Its time to focus your efforts on other things in life rather than worrying about herpes.
My last post is
Could you please tell that euroimmun test can detect 100% of hsv2 Iinfection
at 24 weeks?
What is the accuracy of this test for hsv2 compared to western blot?
For a primary HSV2 infection, most studies show that the Westernblot detects 100% of infections by 100 days (16 weeks). Whilst it won't be quite 100% it will be close enough for all practical purposes.
For someone with HSV1, the 100% practical point of seroconversion for HSV2 may be reached about 180 days. It is difficult to know since people in the research are not tested frequently at longer durations. In research and personal stories some people say periods of time that it took a year before they seroconverted but often it is not stated when their last negative test was taken.
One general question
What is the maximum time period for seroconversion for such people?
1 year or 2 year ........?
It means that a large number of people test even though they were never infected. The percentages of people who seroconvert at the various time intervals in research are all people who tested positive with a swab at the time of their first outbreak.
Hence the odds for a person like yourself with no observable herpes symptoms (meaning lesions) of actually being positive with a very slow seroconversion is much lower than the research of known infections.
Ok mr doctor
I will leave from this herpes mind
But what is that "if they were infected in the first instance " means?
For me also it is first time right?
You are negative, no question. The test is highly reliable. Your symptoms are not herpes related. You are not experiencing an 'aborted' outbreak.
Only a fraction of a percent of people test positive after 16 weeks if they were infected in the first instance.
The best advice has been given, forget herpes and follow up with a dermatologist.
Dr edward h hook shared the statement in this forum that the100% people only get seroconversion in 6 months. and remaining people will take long time beyond 6 months - is it correct?
And I am worring with the my symtoms without blister this may be aborted outbreak ?
Test again is the only answer if you concerned you have herpes.
But my worry is I have not check ed that whether condom was damaged or not and during the sex the condom had not covered fully during inject into vagina

We dont use igm as has a high false positive rate as well as many other flaws. We only use igG and if you tested negative at 24 months, its not going to turn positive unless the test was flawed. The test you took for igg is very accurate but if your not convined then test again.
Since you had protected sex, any topical penis ussues would not be related to the sex you had as the skin was covered with the condom nor would any urethra irritations be related as nothing could get inside.
This may be aborted outbreak?
Hi grace
Why my doctor told I am infected by hsv is my HSV2 Igm is positive at 24 weeks and my Hsv 1&2 igg are negative
Hsv 1 igg negative less than 2 ru/ml
Hsv2 igg negative less than 2 ru/ml
This test I took is euroimmun elisa but I do not know whether it is right test?
Once again I will explain my symtoms clearly
I had protected sex with female ( sex worker)
Then I do not have any symtomes for first 3 months .but after that for last three months I have frequent burining sensation on penis .it is not continuosly but on / off for some period and sometime red spot on penis head and straight line of mild lession but it does not look like sores or blister
My all std routing tests syphilis , chlamdia , gonoherea are negative.
I am really worrying becase of this symtoms
Considering this post detail tell me you suggestion
there is absolutely no reason to wait another 6 months and repeat your testing!! The provider who told you that gave you erroneous information.
New Zealand has good health care. I am sure herpes lesion cultures can be done but really odds are this is not a herpes issue since you have tested negative after 5 months.
Be seen by a dermatologist every time you have symptoms at this point if you can.
Hi
I have burning on penis with red skin spot on head .
In my case burning on penis are on/ off but not continuosly .and this red lession will apear for one week then it will go -this symtoms are happened
four times so far .but no discharge , no water filled blister so far.
In my home town there is no facility for swab .
Could you please tell that anybody tested negative at 24 weeks then after that they tested positive?
I feel that I have good immune as I do not have any illness
Do a search for HSV2 time to seroconversion and you will see a few.
Visual diagnoses are not more than 75% accurate. Burning without a lesion is usually not a symptom of herpes. The lesions can be swabbed for HSV, I'm surprised a doctor didn't do this if they suspected herpes.
Am I right in thinking these lesions are quite persistent?
Oh good reply
But my situation is peculiar I have done hsv Igg test at 24 & 25 week
The test are negative for both .in addition to this test i have herpetic symtoms mainly burning on penis tip and red lession on both inner skin and head of penis. Std expert looked at these leissons and told that it is mostely related to genital herpes and he advised that I have to wait another 6 months for another test igg test.
I thought that the right period for IGG test is one year.
But aftet seeing medhelp forum I came to know that the right period is 16 weeks.
Mine is different I have symtoms with IGG negative .how it is possible at what percentage I can belive this ? And any body in this forum face this kind of issues which means at 24 weeks negative and after positive?
Is there any proven documents for time period of IGG test accuracy?
By 16 weeks, the accuracy limits of a commercial test has been reached.
Hence at 24 weeks it is conclusive that you do not have HSV2. HSV1 may require further consideration depending on circumstances surrounding sexual contact and symptoms and the potential presence of oral cold sores.
