Will antivirals help at 2 months into breakout

I have been having continual outbreaks since early February, i have had a few days here and there where I felt ok but basically felt miserable for 2 months (not including the 2 week yeast and bacterial infection in January).  I haven't had any bloodwork done, but if I got to my doctor tomorrow and tell them I think it is herpes will they prescribe an antiviral to see if that helps? I keep thinking this will go away and it seems like it does a little for about a day every week or so and then comes back even worse. I have only seen 3 bumps and they are not always there but I have all the other symptoms and the worst one is anal pain.  I would think that if an antiviral makes my symptoms go away then I can assume this is herpes? I know I need to have the blood work done but I am hoping I can get a script tomorrow because I can't take this anymore.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help . I think this is actually going away or at least feels better for about a day , about once a week. It seems strange that any other condition would behave like that.  I am so afraid to get tested and keep telling myself this will just go away and never come back and I can go back to my wonderful life that is never going to b the same if I infected my husband. He will never forgive me and I will never forgive myself. If I do ever get the courage to test which one do you suggest, knowing that if I am infected it has been for at least 17 years. ( I am positive my husband never cheated on me and I haven't had sex with anyone but him since I met him 17 years ago). I keep reading about all the tests but it makes my head spin and I don't really want to think about it, I just want someone to tell me yes or no, I don't want a bunch of numbers I won't know how to interpret.  Thanks again fleet you really are a sweetheart.

Two months with no change suggests causes other than herpes. Antivirals would not be recommended until you have a firm diagnosis. And no if it goes away you'd bender really know whether the medication was the cause hence that's not a diagnosis either.
